Sunny Picture For You

Here's a sunny picture for you on a gray day!

I made a mistake on the pattern that I included in my last post.  I don't know what I was thinking about while writing that pattern but I accidentally merged two patterns that I was working on and got what I posted on the last post.  So Very Sorry!!!  I fixed it! So, I f you're interested, get started on making a St. Patrick's Day scarf for yourself.

  Have a great weekend!

Wow! Lots of Hits the Past 2 Days

WOW!!!  I've had A LOT of new visitors to my site the past two days, including a new visitor from Uganda.  My Canadian, Australian and UK friends seem to be back too.  Leave me a comment to let me know what you think of my blog, especially if you're from outside the USA.  I would love to hear from you about my photography, knitting...
I took this picture of the Kale that is in my pots outside the front door of my house.  I love the pink and green together.  I had to take one picture before I pull them out and replace them with Primroses (one of every color).
I love the color and the detail in this photo.

This is perfect for St Patrick's Day

I just finished this scarf.  I bought the yarn at a local art show and can't remember the name of the person who made it, but it is hand-dyed and I think made of Bamboo and maybe some tencel. I used a number 10 knitting needle to give it a lacy look. Here's the pattern:

Cast on 20 stitches (or however wide you'd like the scarf)
Knit 2 rows
K1, *YO (yarnover), K2tog* ( * repeat until 1 stitch remains), K1
Continue doing the previous row until the scarf  is as long as you'd like.
 Leave enough yarn for fringe
Knit 2 rows
Cast off
Add fringe

This is my first time to write down a pattern so I hope it's understandable.  If you have questions, email me or leave a comment!

Matching hat and scarf

I knit these with Mission Falls 1824 Wool which is no longer being made as of 2011.  Still a great yarn!!!

Yummy!!!
I'm currently working on a hat out of all of these very yummy yarns.  I'll have pix of it on the next post.

Finally, only a few more hits and my blog will reach the 1,000 mark.  Keep coming back and please leave me a comment if you see something you like.

Anna

P.S. Do you ever feel like this?  Every time I try to add a photo to my blog this is the first picture to catch my eye.  I had to show her to you!

Funky Christmas Stocking (Part III)

Here it is!!!  I finally have pix of my second Leigh Radford Christmas stocking.  I decided to make the smaller version this time and I didn't make the curly end. It's just a plain conical shape, but really cute and it was a lot of fun to make. I used Malabrigo Worsted www.malabrigoyarn.com/ yarn for this project.

Close-up after the felting process.  This went through one full cycle in my
front-loading washing machine with a pair of old jeans to speed up the process.
I finished a few more hats in the meantime to sell at art shows in the Fall.  Here are the pix.

Newborn Party Hat

This one has shorter confetti and would fit a 2-3 year old.

Cute hat for a newborn.

Spring is springing!
Finally, the tulips are in the stores already and I'm starting to see bulbs sprouting while on my morning runs.  That means more colorful pix for me to show you.
We've had some awesomely warm weather the past few days.  Yesterday, my thermometer in my car said 64.  YEA!!!! I can't wait for warm weather to be here permanently.  This doesn't mean that the rain has stopped though.  It's still raining cats and dogs and you might see me floating away down a river near you.  I predict that the rain will stop in July. UGH!!!
     Until next time, Happy Knitting!!!

Mount Hood and My Latest Hats

I took this awesome photo of Mount Hood last week on a RARE sunny day.  My intentions were to take pictures of the alpacas since they are so photogenic and when I arrived, there was this glorious shot of Mount Hood.
I love how the mountain just looms over this farm!
Those are horses, not alpacas.
Here are the few alpaca shots I got.  They were quite far from the road so it was hard to get the expressions on their faces.  I usually get quite a few good face shots at the other farm where I can get closer to them.
Got an itch?

Napping!
I'm watching you!
Here are some photos of my latest creations.  I decided to make another Dachshund hat in honor of my loving wiener dog, Boomer, who now comes upstairs to wake me up at 5:00AM every morning if I'm not already downstairs. I don't know whether he misses me or that he's just hungry and my hand is the one that feeds him!  I used Malabrigo Worsted for this one.   www.malabrigoyarn.com/

Wiener dog and tennis ball.

This is just made with left-over stash.

Party Hat!

Party!!!
Those are my latest creations.  At this very moment, my most recent Leigh Radford felted stocking is in the washing machine being felted.  I'll have pictures of it on the next post!
I can't leave you without an equine photo.  This is a new Haflinger on the farm.  Very cute, but I don't know her name!

Looking for friends!
